Take a Look Behind the Scenes

Here at Rick Shipley Custom Homes, we utilize a fine-tuned multi-step build process to ensure each home we build is carefully constructed and perfected to create your dream home exactly as you envisioned it.

Milestone 1: Pre-Construction

During the initial building process, site selection is the top priority. After selecting the perfect site, we will begin scheduling meetings with our building designer for preliminary design kick-off. We will discuss and develop a target budget, which will be massaged, tweaked and eventually finalized along with your completed home design. We will also introduce you to our lender relationship for construction financing.

Milestone 2: Construction

Your foundation will be poured, the house will be framed, doors and windows will be installed and the HVAC/Plumbing/Electrical components will be roughed in. Your selected exterior building materials will be applied. At this time, your custom interior finishes will be processed.

Milestone 3: Interior Construction

Drywall and texture are installed. Once this has been completed, we will begin the installation of cabinets, countertops, flooring, tiles and trim.

Milestone 4: Finish Out

The final phase starts with the installation of appliances, plumbing and lighting fixtures along with your selected door and cabinet hardware. Your flatwork is poured, and irrigation and landscaping are installed. Once every detail is complete and the punchout list is finished, then it’s time to move in and enjoy your new custom home!
